I love this, well said. I’ve always been saddened at historical and meaningful symbols being adopted by gangs and homeland terrorists skewing their meaning.

Red is for the blood of Christ, the blue stripes are for Christianity. And the stars are for the colonies. But now, it’s a bane to anyone who sees it as a symbol of hatred and violence. I agree that the flag should be tucked away. It’s time for a fresh start with a flag that embraces all citizens of those states using the rebel flag.
